Who is Going to Film my Videos?

You have a variety of options.

Our preferred option is for you to record the raw video on your smartphone (iPhone or Android) then upload the raw footage to Dropbox for us to edit, produce and distribute.

Later, once you have confirmed that video marketing works as we expect, you can choose to purchase more robust equipment like dedicated camcorder or DSLR/mirrorless camera and fluorescent lights.

Conventional Video Production is Too Expensive

Conventional video production is expensive because traditional video producers have to send out a multiperson crew to your location and pay one or two camerapersons and a director. Traditional producers are expensive because they have to recoup the cost of high end video equipment, microphones and lights. They then have to pay an editor and a producer to generate a final product.

In a typical day’s shoot, you may end up with three or four videos. And if you want another set, the crew has to pack up, drive out to your location and perform another shoot.

Our approach to educational marketing relies on uploading dozens of videos over the course of a year – often four or more per month. Obviously it would not be cost effective to send out a production crew to your home or office every month.

Your Smartphone Camera is More than Sufficient

Fortunately, experience tells us that you do not have to spend huge sums of money to create educational videos. In 2020, the camera built in to your iPhone or Android is more than sufficient to create raw video footage that will work well on YouTube, Facebook, AVVO and other online platforms.

Remember that most people viewing your videos will be doing so on their phones, tablets or computers. Phones, tablets and computers don’t have the computing power or screen resolution to display broadcast quality video anyway. Video footage captured by a broadcast quality video camera that costs tens of thousands of dollars is overkill for effective legal marketing videos.

Re-imagine Your Notion of a “Video Studio”

We would ask you to re-imagine your idea of a video studio. In 2020, your “studio” can be your kitchen table, office desk or living room. Add an simple stand for your phone and an inexpensive lavalier microphone and you can create videos with more than enough technical quality to impress and inspire potential clients.

We believe that the value you will get from straightforward educational videos arises not from expensive and complicated production, but from useful, actionable content and extensive distribution. When you hire Proven Video Solutions, you will be purchasing our expertise in developing topics to speak about and for our efforts in distributing and promoting your videos.

We Offer Help at Every Step

If you need help setting up your studio, we offer on-site or remote assistance with that. We have also scheduled volume video recording at our studio although recording twenty or more videos at one time can be exhausting for even someone experienced in appearing on camera.

Finally we offer a “done for you” option in which Jonathan Ginsberg can serve as your firm’s spokesperson for educational videos.

Why Legal Video Marketing is About More than Sharing Information

As lawyers, most of us are very analytical people. In law school moot court, our professors taught us to see both sides of an issue regardless of our personal biases and to passionately argue for the plaintiff at 1pm and the defendant at 1:30. Law school courses were and are designed to help us identify […]
